INTRODUCTIONS THREAD!

So, let's meet and greet our fellow Louisville goths! I know most of us know each other, but there are inevitably a few who don't, as well as some folks who may not be easily identified by their online personas. And besides all that, introduction threads are fun.
So, let's take a moment to just answer a few simple questions about ourselves. Fill these out if you will.

How did you get introduced to the Louisville Goth community?: I actually got drug to a goth night at the Brickhouse, incidentally the Alter Der Ruine show, by my friend Stephanie to help reduce awkwardness due to a stalker she had at the time. Back then I was really only into the local punk and metal scenes so the environment was something completely foreign, and after a few more events and a bit of resistance actually, I got sort of hooked, and by the halfway through the Paradox days I was guaranteed to be found there every week, as I am today.
Describe your music tastes and a few favorite bands: I listen to a bit of everything. I mentioned punk, I'm really into DK, Minor Threat, The Vandals, and the Misfits as well as some weirder stuff like Scratch Acid. I still like a lot of really pure black metal acts like Windir and Burzum. Thrash is godly, true thrash like Overkill and Exodus. Listening to post-punk lately, I adore the Chameleons, the Smiths, and the very underrated Modern English. I'm very surface about my Gothic Rock, into Clan of Xymox and stuff, save for a few weird outsiders like Asmodi Bizarr and Deathrock bands like Specimen or Cinema Strange. 80s pop and New Wave is amazing, Duran Duran is one of my all-time favorite bands. EBM and Industrial basically revolving around Front 242, KMFDM and Nitzer Ebb, bit of Skinny Puppy in there for good measure.
So basically I'm insanely mainstreamist except I really really really hate Combichrist.
What's the most Gothic thing about yourself?: Probably my black, seething hatred for all existance. Or my effing sweet boots.

How did you get introduced to the Louisville Goth community?: I had been wanting to check it out since I was like 16 but didn't really have the opportunity to do so until I met Will and found out he went to Goth Night, thus finally giving me an opportunity to check it out.
Describe your music tastes and a few favorite bands: Euh. I like mostly everything. I don't particularly care for country tho, nor do I care for opera or 80s love ballads. Or Christian music. But other than that...
Favorites include Apocalyptica, Reverend Horton Heat, Combichrist, and Suicide Commando. Favorites change daily though, basically.

I found a flyer laying around for an all ages goth night at Bulldog Cafe circa november/december 2004. I started becoming a regular patron of the all ages nights. A few years later in early 2006 I started DJing at the Sumshees all ages goth nights. I've been trying to promote and organize various goth / industrial events in Louisville ever since.
Describe your music tastes and a few favorite bands:
I really like a wide range of music, but for it to really *click* it usually has to be dark and/or electronic. I think overall i'm attracted more towards the Industrial side of the scene, but Ive always liked goth rock a lot too. I actually went through a "deathrocker" phase in like 2007 or so. I didn't get to frequent it to its full potential, but it was awesome the times i went. Kynt would sit me down and we would talk about clothes, and how the best skinny jeans are bought at gangsta girl stores,lol. Eric and I would go together on occasion, get ready together, and looking back wore the dumbest shit ever, but it was an awesome time in my life. I was truly introduced to the music by Mark, when i met him my freshman year in Highschool, but had formally been listening to random shit, like switchblade symphony and the cure and had never known what Goth was,in its true sense. After about two or three years, I began Djing at the front room of club Fuzion at the //.Malfunction nights, and loved it so much that i wanted to play regularly, so i began Djing at paradox, and now Deafixion! XD
Describe your music tastes and a few favorite bands: Gothic rock, post punk, Martial industrial, Neofolk, wave (cold wave, new wave, darkwave, poopwave), some EBM and synthpop and Dark Electro Industrial. I think from all time, my favorite bands include, Die form, Depeche mode, Sopor aeternus and ensemble of shadows, Death in june, Lacrimosa, Zbigniew Preisner, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Sol Invictus, Sisters of mercy, motorama, IAMX, and siouxsie!
