Good places to find cool shit in louisville
or places to find anything cool in general!
Not in louisville, but the house of oddities is a cool place, right across the bridge.

Undergrond Sounds has a lot of really cool goth t-shirts.
They have several designs of Bauhaus, Siouxsie and Joy Division.

Especially if you want remote controlled monsters.
Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
Of course book and music exchange always has some random cleopatra compilation, then again, you have one, and you have em all XP
Street moda on bardstown sometimes has cool boots by demonia, but their a bit pricy. youd have to ask the clerks there about em, they always keep em in the back. XD plus, the hottopic in mall st Mathews doesnt even have boots anymore! The hell. Now there is really no reason to go there at all XP

they have some cool T shirts, and coffin bags
Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
I can never get to House of Oddities when they're open. Ditto with Izzy's Little Creepers. There's a new record store in Corydon, Indiana called Joe's Records. Not really all that gothicky (and not all that stereotypically SoIN, either...which is bizarre) but just something of note in Harrison County. I put some flyers there for the first Friday Night Deafixion Spectacular...

Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
sweet! thanks dude.
there is a place on the outskirts of Indy called Future shock. Its a goth and punk boutique.
Also, here in da ville, theres a small metaphysical shop called Natures magic on brownsboro road, a little before you get to the ghetto kroger, and right after passing the zorn avenue/ hillcrest streets. I dont know the address, but its awesome. They have alot of cool jewelry for reasonable prices. Poision rings, ankhs, all sort of occult items, books, magazines, herbs, teas, hairdyes, fairy T shirts >_>, daggers and tons of other shit, like crystals and rocks! OH AND AWESOME SCARVES. But really, its a cool place. and affordable, for realz. I get all my jewelry there. and it smells nice

Why hasn't anybody mentioned Unique Thrift yet? I thought that was where everyone got their clothes (band shirts aside). Queen of Rags is a place to get cool hats, but be prepared to spend an arm and a leg.
I love House of Oddities, I am upset that i have lost my Battle Royale shirt I got there.
Great Escape is the best place for goth comics and they always have cool knick knacks and dollies.

Of course, since everyone knows about it, no one feels the need to mention it...yeah I think I'm a funny guy, but thank goodness looks aren't everything (so they say).
Also, I'm kinda a fan of Cherry Bomb, but it's similar to Queen of Rags in the money sense (though they have some decent bargins, occasionally).
And speaking of thrift stores, don't forget the Hospice Thrift Store (now called the Hosparus Thrift Store, I believe)...most of the proceeds go to Hosparus care.

It depends on which Goodwill you go to. Not sure what road it's on, but the one by the Captain D's always seems to have better stuff than some of the other ones I go to.
Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
The Clarksville and Jeff goodwills are bull shit, in a good way. They always have something nifty in the mens' shirts. That's where I found my trusty Buddha shirt.

the last i checked, street moda wasn't carring demonia in store any longer, due to lack of sales..
however, they have still have their stock in their warehouse.
so if you find it on their website they can send it over, or at the very least - order it for you -

Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
When I go thrift shopping I usually raid the wo...er um...unisex section. I always find cool stuff, or stuff that I think is cool until I realize it makes me look like the offspring of David Bowie and Betty White.
Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
i found buckly platform shoes from demonia at the goodwill by st Mathews mall once. and tripp pants. lol
Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
For those of you hunting for an outfit for the 1920s party, Nitty Gritty has quite a bit of stuff that could be used for a gangster costume. And Caufield's has a whole section of gangster and flapper costume items.

Thanks for the info. I was going to have my mum sew me a dress for this event but it'd probably be more cost-efficient to buy a flapper costume. I would've needed over 10 yards of material for what I wanted, and material isn't cheap.

Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
Why in the hell is Hot Topic selling Brittney Spears shirts? i realize that almost none of their band shirts are from modern bands that arent' popular, but still. Is that what all the subcultural kids are listening to nowadays? I just figured the New Kids on the Block shirts were there because they were retro (please tell me teens aren't really listening to them again).
Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
Hot Topic is no longer anything remotely underground. Don't bother going, its a waste of gas.

I think it's supposed to be ironic or something. That's the cool thing now with the tardo scene kids who listen to shitty emoXcore and think they're indie or something, and somehow manage to sag in skinnys.
Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
I did find a few things I liked last weekend. They had Rocko's Modern life shirts (I've been watching it on youtube lately), a Crybaby shirt, and True Blood and Hello Kitty merchandise.
The Britney Spears and NKotB shirts were in the men's section so maybe they are catering to teenage masochists who want an easy way to get beat up in school.

Re: Good places to find cool shit in louisville
I love Britney Spears, but I dunno if I could bring myself to buy a Britney Spears shirt from Hot Topic. It feels so backwards.
